Gesture Drawings
I tried something different with my gesture drawings this week- I was at a soccer games and sketched a few of the various positions that I saw during play. It gave a different group of positions to use, and I found it to be pretty interesting as well.

Unified Drawing 3
In this picture I experimented with fine tip markers. I enjoy working with these purely because it is such a fun medium to draw with. I hope to work with some colored ones at some point this semester as well!
Unified Drawing 2
In this picture I experimented with ebony pencils. I liked drawing with this because it is so similar to sketching with graphite.
Unified Drawing 1
In this drawing I experimented with vine charcoal. I have always liked to draw with charcoal, especially using the smudging technique. The only downfall is the mess that you make in the process.

My Ideal Drawing
Ever since I can remember, I have been intrigued by people who can sketch eyes so effortlessly. A friend of mine in high school was an extremely gifted artist, and could portray just about any emotion simply through a set of eyes- never including the rest of the face. I was always jealous of her artistic talent, especially this aspect. You can tell so much about a person simply from their eyes. Looking at a picture of a human's face, even just the eyes, is always subject to a change in emotion for the viewer.
